THE MARAIS

The Marais is a rare survivor of old Paris, dotted with17th century mansions, steeped in history and with a buzzing Jewish quarter. The area boasts of Paris’s oldest surviving town house, Paris’s oldest square, charming streets that reflect Medieval street layout, trendy shops and excellent eating options. We will explore at a leisurely pace and mix stories from the long and rich history of this most charismatic quarter, once home to Victor Hugo and where he started writing “Les Misérables”.
